
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan, who was 22 at the time, was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
