Anne Celeste Heche is an American actress who is known for playing a wide range of roles in film, television, and theatre. Her achievements include an Daytime Emmy Award, a National Board of Review Award among others. Anne Lockhart, born Anne Kathleen Maloney in September 1953, is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Lieutenant Sheba in the period 1978-1979 of the television show Battlestar Galactica. Lockhart is the daughter of actress June Lockhart and granddaughter of actor Gene Lockhart. Lockhart's career started when she was a child. The first time she appeared on screen was aged four, when she appeared on T is for Tumbleweed. It was nominated for an Academy Award in this short film. She learned how to run the company from her mother on the set. Lockhart appeared in many episodes of Lassie. Dora in Jory, 1972 was the first film she appeared in by Lockhart. In 1972, she was just 18 years old when she played her character as the daughter of Joan Crawford on The Sixth Sense. The show was Joan's final performance on stage. Anne had reportedly turned down Laurie Strode (John Carpenter's 1978 Halloween thriller) as well as Jaime Lee Curtis took the part. Carpenter says she was in his thoughts to play the character, but that she rejected it. Anne does not recall ever having been approached from John Carpenter or being offered the job. It's possible that one of her agents declined it for her reasons without informing her. Glen Larson initially selected her to play Battlestar Galactica in 1978. The script was sent to him in rough form. She initially refused the part since the character wasn't robust. Glen was able to write an even stronger character with Sheba. After reading the initial 25 pages of the script The Living Legend she accepted immediately. The film ran for one season. She co-starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the film Joyride (1977) and co-starred alongside Michael Moriarty in the horror film The Dark Tower (1987).
